Also known as "FAST", this is one of the more popular
search engines on the web. It is worthwhile to get listed in their
directory.
Alltheweb.com results are also included in Lycos and a number of other
search engines.
Altavista.com
Altavista is one of the older search engines and it's
still very popular. They have a special security code that pops up on
their submission page, which makes it difficult to include them in auto
submissions. Visit this page and manually type in your URL.
Google.com
Our auto submit tool does submit to Google.com, but this
one's so important, we're listing it again. Google doesn't penalize you
for submitting too often. Google does relie heavily on Link Popularity.
MSN.com
Microsoft's search engine, MSN.com, is one of the most
popular search engines on the web. You will want to get listed here.
Open Directory
Results from the Open Directory are used by a number of
search engines, including All the Web, AltaVista, Google, HotBot, Lycos,
Northern Light, and Yahoo
Yahoo.com
Yahoo, still one of the most popular search engines on
the web, offers free submission for non commercial websites. Visit
Yahoo.com and find locate the directory where you want to be listed.
Once you find it, click the Suggest a Site link at the bottom of
the page.
For commercial websites, getting listed on Google will also get you
listed on Yahoo, since Yahoo lists Google results under "web page
matches". Yahoo also offers an expensive paid inclusion for about $300.
I do not recommend this.
